About the Role

This is more than an associate attorney position—it’s an opportunity to become an integral part of the continued growth of ERM Immigration Law.

You’ll work directly with businesses ranging from emerging startups to multinational corporations while advising executives, professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and individuals on complex immigration matters. You’ll also have the opportunity to broaden your practice into family-based immigration and humanitarian matters if desired, although prior experience in those areas is not required.

You’ll enjoy significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and the ability to help shape the future direction of our expanding employment-based immigration practice.

Responsibilities

As a Business Immigration Associate Attorney, you will:

• Manage a sophisticated caseload of employment-based immigration matters from consultation through final adjudication
• Prepare and file nonimmigrant petitions including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, O-1, and related classifications
• Prepare immigrant petitions including EB-1, EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW), PERM labor certifications, and other employment-based green card matters
• Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other agency inquiries
• Advise corporate clients regarding immigration strategy, compliance, workforce planning, and long-term immigration solutions
• Conduct legal research and develop creative solutions for complex immigration matters
• Build strong, long-term relationships with corporate and individual clients through exceptional communication and service
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and legal support staff to ensure efficient case management and outstanding client experiences
• Stay current on changes in immigration law, agency policy, and emerging legal developments
• Assist with family-based immigration, adjustment of status, consular processing, naturalization, humanitarian matters, and related immigration cases as needed (training available)

Qualifications

We’re looking for an attorney who combines excellent legal skills with initiative, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to client service.

Required qualifications include:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction
• Minimum of 2 years of employment-based immigration experience
• Ability to independently manage complex employment-based immigration matters
• Demonstrated experience preparing and filing H-1B, E-2, L-1, TN, E-2, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW petitions
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and case management abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to professionalism and respect

Preferred qualifications include:

• PERM labor certification experience
• Significant EB-2 National Interest Waiver experience
• Experience with family-based immigration and adjustment of status
• Experience with naturalization and consular processing
• Fluency in a second language

About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of immigration matters, including both employment-based and family-based cases.

Depending on your experience, you’ll prepare applications involving Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Naturalization, Asylum, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), Humanitarian Parole, Employment Authorization, TN, EB-1A, National Interest Waivers (NIW), and many other immigration benefits, EOIR, BIA, etc.

If your background is primarily employment-based immigration, we’ll provide training in family and humanitarian matters. Likewise, candidates with strong family-based experience who are interested in expanding into employment-based immigration are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

As an Immigration Paralegal, you will:

• Prepare and manage a broad range of immigration applications and petitions before USCIS, the Department of State, and EOIR
• Draft immigration forms, supporting letters, exhibits, and filing packages
• Prepare family-based petitions, employment-based petitions, humanitarian applications, naturalization applications, and related filings
• Assist with NIW, EB-1A, TN, adjustment of status, consular processing, asylum, parole, and other immigration matters
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case strategy, document collection, and filing updates
• Manage case deadlines and maintain organized electronic case files
• Assist attorneys with legal research, trial preparation, and complex filings as needed
• Respond to client inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and responsiveness
• Assist with lead intake, client communications, invoicing, and other administrative responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and fellow staff to ensure exceptional client service

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with genuine compassion for clients.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience working as an immigration paralegal
• Strong knowledge of immigration procedures before USCIS, EOIR, and the U.S. Department of State
• Experience preparing immigration forms and assembling filing packages
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to providing courteous, compassionate service to clients from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
• Must live within commuting distance of Seattle or already have plans to relocate to Washington

Preferred Qualifications

• Employment-based immigration experience and/or EOIR experience
• Experience with EB-1A, NIW, H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM, H-2A, or H-2B matters
• Knowledge of NVC, CEAC, and K-1 visa processing
• Experience using Cerenade
• Experience using Lawmatics
• Spanish or another second language
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

About the Role

This position focuses primarily on Removal Defense, while also providing opportunities to work on family-based immigration, naturalization, and other immigration matters.

You will manage your own caseload while collaborating closely with experienced attorneys and support staff to develop thoughtful legal strategies and deliver exceptional client service.

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys courtroom advocacy, legal writing, client counseling, and strategic litigation.

Responsibilities

As an Immigration Associate Attorney, you will:

• Represent clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), including Master Calendar and Individual Hearings
• Represent clients at USCIS in family-based and humanitarian matters
• Prepare appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
• Prepare and File Writs of Mandamus
• Develop legal strategies for complex removal defense matters
• Draft motions, briefs, asylum applications, and other immigration filings
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal arguments
• Prepare clients thoroughly for hearings, USCIS interviews, and other immigration appointments
• Represent clients during USCIS interviews, hearings, and check-ins
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide compassionate, responsive legal guidance
• Monitor developments in immigration law, regulations, and agency policy
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff to ensure outstanding client service and successful case outcomes
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and client advocacy

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LL.M. from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction
• Minimum2 years of direct Removal Defense experience representing and managing your own caseload as an attorney.
• Experience handling Individual Hearings before Immigration Court
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong organizational and case management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced practice
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with legal research platforms, Microsoft Office, and immigration case management software
• Must be reliable, committed, and collegial.

• 5 years’ experience in immigration law as an attorney

• Experience with naturalization and citizenship applications
